Arthur H. White, M.D. is an internationally renowned orthopedic spine surgeon. After graduating from Lincoln. Arthur attended the University of California at Berkeley that awarded him a BA in 1961. He then attended the University of California Medical School of Irvine, which awarded him a M.D. in 1965. After an internship at Harbor General Hospital in Torrance, California, Arthur began to concentrate his efforts on creating new and improved ways of diagnosing and treating painful spine disorders. A recognized leader in the field of spine surgery and rehabilitation, Arthur has developed and implemented a number of highly effective back injury prevention programs. He has also dedicated himself to assisting the medical community in improving the quality of diagnostics, treatments and training of patients with back pain. A most sought after lecturer and educator on back pain, Arthur's list of professional appointments extends for pages. He has authored numerous books and articles and has organized countless professional symposia on spine disorders. His most publicized successes were the surgical and personal training techniques that returned San Francisco 49er quarterback, Joe Montana, to the playing field 55 days after major back surgery, thereby earning the grateful praise of his native city. Dubbed the "Montana Miracle", this success was chronicled on national television on ABC's 20/20. He has appeared many times on television and radio, often on fellow Wall of Fame inductee Joannie Greggain's radio show. In recognition of his many accomplishments, Arthur was inducted into the Abraham Lincoln High School Wall of Fame in May 1998. |
