Turning professional that same year, Johnny emerged from the pack in the early 1970's and established himself as one of golf's all-time greats by winning 23 PGA Tour tournaments, two major championships including the 1973 US Open and two World Cups. The 1980's were highlighted by a win at the AT&T Pebble Beach National ProAm, a feat he repeated In 1994 to the acclaim of his many fans who have followed him throughout the years. Quietly, while he was playing golf, and officially since 1984 when he incorporated Johnny Miller Design, Ltd., Johnny has been deeply involved creating artistic golf courses. Legions of golfers in the United States, Europe, Japan, and the Pacific are enjoying golf on courses designed by his firm. Johnny, an NBC Sports announcer, is recognized as one of television's premier golf commentators. His insights into the technical and personal aspects of the game and its players have consistently drawn excellent reviews. From his beginnings as a brilliantly talented player to his maturity as a respected commentator on the issues surrounding his beloved game, Johnny has consistently excelled. Devoted to his family and church, Johnny, his wife Linda and their six children are committed to their community. A director of American Indian Services in Provo, Utah, Johnny has been a tireless contributor to community groups.
