After being honorably discharged, Ted returned to San Francisco State University and the San Francisco Art Institute from 1960 through 1964. Ted has had a lifelong passion for the arts which he studied whenever possible throughout his academic career. This led to his attending the prestigious San Francisco Art Institute and developing an avocation in which he excels to this day. In 1962, Ted entered as a profession, joining UC Realtors in San Francisco as a sales agent, eventually becoming sales manager. In 1974, he became a real estate loan consultant with Great Western Savings in Millbrae, moving to Gibraltar Savings and Loan in San Francisco in 1977 in the same capacity. In 1979, Ted left Gibraltar Savings to found his own mortgage brokerage firm, Federal Financial Mortgage Company in San Francisco. As its chief executive and owner, Ted has grown Federal Financial Mortgage Company into a major force in California's mortgage industry. Federal Financial was ranked as one of California's 100 largest privately held companies, a status it enjoyed for a number of years. It has also been recognized as one of the 50 largest private concerns in the San Francisco Bay Area. Ted's love of San Francisco has led to a significant community involvement. From 1987 through 1989, Ted was a Commissioner and Member of the San Francisco Rent Board. From 1989 until 1992, he served as a San Francisco Fire Commissioner, a position to which he was reappointed in 1966 and in which he was currently serves. Ted uses his art, on which he has focused his energies for the past few years, to support charities in the San Francisco Bay Area. None of his works are currently for sale but he uses showings of his works to raise money for worthy causes throughout the area. In recognition of his many accomplishments, Ted was inducted into the Abraham Lincoln High School Wall of Fame in May 2000. |
