2005 Day at the Races

Another highly successful Day at the Races event was held on September 24, 2005 at the Bay Meadows Race Track at the San Mateo County Fairgrounds.

The sun shone brightly as the huge thoroughbreds raced around the oval track, stretching their sinews to the utmost to please their human jockeys. Until you stand next to one of these beautiful animals, you cannot really appreciate their size. The speed at which they sprint toward the finish line is breathtaking, if you are standing near the track. It’s an experience everyone should behold at least once in their lifetime.

Class of F58 Mustang Lew Pollack (pictured right) says: “Although there were only a few people there from my own class (Toni Alstad, Don Staub, Jerry Gosland) it was a great way to spend a day. The company was great, the food was great, and the horses, well, they were slow (especially mine).”

Jerry (Goose) Gosland F58 confirms what Lew has said by stating, “Race day was another wonderful fun time with alumni & friends. The weather,  the company & the easy social atmosphere was fantastic. Because of the nature of horse racing there is time to socialize between races which is what the day is all about for most of us.”

We can go on and on with testimonials about how great an event this is, but we want you to participate and find out for yourselves.

Mark the months of September and October on your 2006 calendars as “Lincoln Participation Days.”
